Here a few first hand experiances of our guards at work.

Well I hate to be the first to post how well these noseguards stand up to major impact outside of a controlled test but just my luck here goes.

I received the noseguard for my hellcat earlier this week and just happened to put in on yesterday morning just before heading out to skate NY's Broadway and central park.

First and foremost, the fit, workmanship and functionality of this piece is excellent and wouldn't ask for anything more.

Now on to how it holds up on impact. I started off near Columbus circle heading downhill to skate most of the southern lower loop. Got to a nice set of fast twisties were I decided I wanted to keep up with group of cyclists, all was going well for the most part.

I routinely came out of my tuck and put my foot down to shave off some speed before one of the turns and without warning ended up losing control of the situation sending me and my board downhill uncontrollably. I ended up with some scraps and bruises and dislocated shoulder I couldn't put back into place myself, (after multiple attempts) and ended up seeking medical attention.

My Hellcat on the other hand went nose first into the curb, throwing it into a frontflip over the curb and downhill through multiple tree trunks. My friend went off looking for it expecting the worse while I waited for an ambulance . She gives the nose a good wipe with her shirt and to our amazement not a ding to the wood of the nose on the board itself. You can obviously tell the nose was hit but it honestly doesn't look any worse than as if you were just holding your board nose down onto concrete and it got a couple scratches.

I'm not going to bother making any attempt to say how fast I was going, cuz i really don't know!! But the fact that a guy on a stand up skateboard was impressing a group of cyclists by tailing them downhill, leaves it safe to say a considerable amount of speed was achieved before the noseguard and curb came into contact.

The slotted holes and rubber backing were some clever modifications to these guards. Upon inspection of the underside i can tell the whole guard shifted slightly backwards, but after taking everything apart it's easy to see the hardware, trucks and mounting holes were entirely unaffected.

So here i am typing away with arm in sling, had to find the time to say thanks to Tanner and the Bombsquad crew for supplying me and my board with a very affordable insurance policy.

Well I'm happy I bought this thing! I was attempting a backside speed check and I high sided real hard. My board went rocketing towards the wall of the garage and I was instantly thinking "Damn I hope the front of my board is going towards it." Fortunately it was, and there's hardly even a mark on the nose guard. Woot!

After many a spill, I feel like I can chime in.

These things are AMAZING and I am so happy that these guys are making them. I skate parking garages and I like to bite off more than I can chew often so I fall a lot. My board has slammed into garage walls up to 30 mph or so and everything is fine. It scratches up the front a bit and every time I'm just happy it's not my board. I was at first skeptical that it would just bust the hardware but I've had nothing of the sort.

Apparently you can flip it and use it as a lowerer but I just prefer to use it upside down. It's great. Get one.
